Hayley Barber

Clinician

Hayley is a Special Education Teacher of 12 years and has recently worked in Early Intervention, supporting children and carers to navigate the NDIS space through therapy, coaching, guidance, and advocacy for every family she has had the pleasure to meet.

Hayley is currently undertaking clinical training in Interplay run by Play Therapy Australia (completion in January 2023). This form of therapy facilitates growth and supports the relationship between the child and their parent/caregiver as they go through vital phases of healing together. Hayley feels privileged to be a part of this experience and looks forward to working in this area.

Hayley prides herself on developing secure and trusting relationships with those she works with and offers a space of complete acceptance and no judgement. Hayley is an authentic, warm, and caring person and works through a humanistic lens that uses attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology research to inform her practise.

As a mother of two, Hayley has harnessed play in all areas of her life and has observed and been a part of the magic it can create. Every human craves connection and children connect through play, Hayley believes it is the most powerful tool for communication, resolution, and lifelong healing.

When Hayley is not working, she loves walking or (slowly) running in nature and spending time at the beach with her family.

Hayley is looking forward to meeting and supporting you on your play therapy journey.
