Supporting young people through trauma-informed care
We proudly partner with leading organisations across Victoria to connect children and adolescents with the therapeutic support they deserve. Our work is grounded in a neurobiologically informed, trauma-responsive framework that recognises the complex needs of young people who have experienced adversity. We support children and families impacted by a wide range of challenges, including:
Developmental and complex trauma
Grief and loss (including bereavement and family separation)
Family violence and abuse
Neglect and disrupted attachment
Intergenerational trauma
Refugee and asylum-seeking experiences
Significant life transitions (such as out-of-home care, kinship care, or foster placements)
We deeply value the work of the dedicated professionals who walk alongside these children and families every day. Your commitment, advocacy, and care make a profound difference. Our goal is to complement that work by providing therapeutic supports that gently repattern the lower brain systems impacted by trauma, fostering regulation, safety, and healing.
Through collaboration, we aim to promote recovery, build resilience, and help every young person reconnect with their strengths and potential!
Understanding The Need
Experiences of trauma are unfortunately common. International research suggests that between half and two-thirds of young people will be exposed to at least one traumatic event by the age of 16.
For those in contact with the justice system, involved with child protection or family services, from refugee backgrounds, working in emergency services or armed forces, or from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the likelihood is even higher.
Why Early Intervention Matters
Trauma can deeply impact a young person’s development, relationships, and mental health. Early intervention is critical, especially when trauma leads to or worsens mental ill-health.
Yet, far too many young people miss out on the support they need. The wait for free or low-cost services can be five months or longer.
How We Can Help
Through our trauma-informed therapeutic program, we aim to:
Provide neurobiologically-informed care to support healing and resilience
Offer accessible pathways for therapeutic support, even in complex cases
Collaborate with referring professionals and care teams to tailor our approach to the young person’s needs
While we may not be able to offer a full course of therapy to every applicant, we are committed to offering some level of support wherever possible.
Make A Referral
If you are working with a child or adolescent who could benefit from our support, or if you’re a professional seeking therapeutic assistance for a young person, once we receive your submission, one of two things will happen:
A member of ourIntake Team will get in touch to organise a time to discuss your referral further
Understand the young person’s needs, and explore the most appropriate support options, or
If preferred, we can send through a tailored quote to support your application for program or therapeutic funding right away.
We understand that wait times for support can be challenging. Families who are flexible with appointment times, such as being available during school hours or at short notice may be able to access support more quickly.
Our goal is to make this process as smooth and response as possible, so we can begin supporting the young person as soon as we’re able. See our Professional Referral Form below, please note you can call our offices anytime to enquire further.
